Kim’s Awesome Hummus Recipe

2 cans chick peas
2 garlic cloves
1 1/2 lemons (juiced)
1/4 Cup tahini (see recipe below or buy a jar)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp red pepper
1/8 tsp tumeric
4 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (the best you have!)

Blend ingredients @ whirl. Add water a little at a time until desired consistency. Drizzle with more olive oil if you wish. Sprinkle with cumin and/or sumac and Bob’s your uncle…

2 cups sesame seeds
1/3 cup olive oil

Toast the sesame seeds in a hot, heavy saute pan. It should take about two minutes. Be careful not to burn the seeds. Let cool. Then put the seeds and olive oil in a food processor and pulse until smooth. You might have to add more oil. Make sure to store unused portion in the refrigerator as the sesame seed will turn rancid quickly if left out.
